A New Generation of Support for Young People
We were delighted to welcome supporters, partners and emerging leaders to the inaugural Generations of Change event, held at the iconic Coopers Brewery earlier this month.
As a sixth-generation family business, Coopers provided the perfect setting for a conversation centred on legacy, leadership and the importance of investing in future generations. Their story is a powerful reminder that meaningful impact is rarely achieved in a single generation. Instead, it is built over time through shared values, commitment and a vision that extends beyond today.
This belief sits at the heart of Generations of Change.
Created to bring together long-standing supporters, emerging leaders and future philanthropists, the event series is designed to foster meaningful connections and inspire the next generation of people who will help create opportunities for young people to thrive.
For almost 30 years, Youth Opportunities has been fortunate to be supported by individuals, families and businesses who have championed our mission and invested in the potential of young people. As we look to the future, we recognise the importance of engaging the next generation and ensuring that this legacy of support continues.
A special feature of the Generations of Change series is the involvement of our event hosts, whose own connections to Youth Opportunities reflect the spirit of the initiative. We are proud to be supported by Sandy Robinson, daughter of Youth Opportunities founder Peter Marshman; Taylor Swinstead, daughter of Patron and Life Member Graham Hobbs and Pam Hobbs; and Vanessa McCully, daughter of Life Member John and Julie Tanti. Together, they represent the next generation of leaders carrying forward the values, passion and commitment that have helped shape Youth Opportunities over many years.
Importantly, this series is about much more than fundraising. It is about building relationships, sharing stories, strengthening networks and creating a community committed to empowering young people to reach their full potential.
The overwhelming support for our inaugural event reinforced just how important these conversations are. By connecting people from different generations, industries and backgrounds, we can continue to strengthen our collective impact and ensure Youth Opportunities remains relevant, sustainable and responsive to the needs of young people for years to come.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for this special occasion and look forward to growing the Generations of Change series in the years ahead. Together, we can inspire future generations of leaders, advocates and supporters to create lasting change. Keep an eye out for Generations of Change events future events!
