Our Impact

In 2024, Youth Opportunities :

engaged with 3,760 young people

delivered 88 programs

graduated 1,683 students

worked with 589 caregivers & educators

Before I joined Youth Opportunities, I wasn’t very connected to my emotions. Most of the time, I pushed my feelings so far down that I barely recognised them. On the outside, I acted like everything was fine, like nothing could tear me down, but on the inside, that wasn’t always the case. I also struggled a lot with motivation. Whether it was at school, at work, or even just in everyday life, I found it hard to stay focused and driven. Deep down, I knew that wasn’t how I wanted to keep living, I needed to make a change.

Youth Opportunities has taught me how to take control of my mindset, build better habits, and believe in my potential. This program has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected.

In 2024, because of our fantastic partners, Youth Opportunities was able to support over 3,760 young people through our personal leadership programs, graduate engagement activities, scholarships, workshops, and wraparound services.

The measurement and analysis of our programs are as much a part of the delivery as the content itself. Students undertaking the Personal Leadership Program are asked to complete a wellbeing self-assessment at the beginning, and end, of the program.

Each year, students consistently report significant increases in all areas of wellbeing as a result of the program. Using internationally-recognised measures, such as K10, MHC-SF, EPOCH and Locus of Control, we consistently use statistical analysis to assess the effectiveness and impact of our programs.
