Congratulations, Lou Potter!

Congratulations to Youth Opportunities graduate and Youth Participation Framework co-author Lou Potter on being named the Human Services SA Pride Award winner at the 2026 7 News Young Achiever Awards.

Lou is a passionate advocate, leader and changemaker whose impact can be seen across countless communities and organisations throughout South Australia. As the first transgender President of United Nations Youth South Australia, a Senior Consultant at KPMG, a Board Member of YACSA and a member of the SACOSS Policy Council, Lou has consistently used their voice and expertise to create more inclusive opportunities for others.

From establishing a Dungeons & Dragons club at Brocas Youth Centre to create a welcoming space for young people, to contributing to policy reviews and reforms across health and disability systems, Lou has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring people are heard, valued and represented.

We have been fortunate to work alongside Lou as a co-author of our Youth Participation Framework, where their insight, lived experience and passion for meaningful youth engagement helped shape an important piece of work for our organisation.

Lou's achievements are remarkable, but what stands out most is their dedication to empowering others and creating positive change. Their recognition at the 2026 7 News Young Achiever Awards is incredibly well deserved.

Congratulations, Lou. We are immensely proud of all that you have achieved and can't wait to see what comes next.
