Youth Opportunities is proud to announce Adelaide Crows rising star Charlie Edwards as its newest Ambassador, strengthening the organisation's commitment to empowering young Australians with the confidence, resilience and skills to thrive.

Having already spent time connecting with students through Youth Opportunities' Personal Leadership Program®, Charlie has built a genuine rapport with participants and witnessed firsthand the impact the program has on young people's confidence and aspirations.

Originally from rural Victoria, Charlie's journey to the AFL is one of determination, resilience and hard work. A former scholarship student and school leader, he understands the importance of perseverance, embracing new opportunities and having the right support to reach your potential.

As a Youth Opportunities Ambassador, Charlie will help raise awareness of the organisation's work, engage directly with young people, and champion programs that inspire confidence, personal leadership and brighter futures.

Charlie said he was honoured to join Youth Opportunities and looked forward to supporting more young people to believe in themselves.

“I’m really honoured to become an Ambassador for Youth Opportunities. I strongly believe that access to quality education and personal development can have a huge impact on a young person’s confidence, direction and future.

Football has given me a platform, and I think it’s important to use that platform in a positive way. Youth Opportunities does incredible work helping young people build belief in themselves, develop resilience and recognise what they’re capable of, and I’m proud to support that.”

Emily Martinella, Chief Executive of Youth Opportunities, said Charlie's authenticity and genuine commitment to young people made him an outstanding choice as an ambassador for our organisation.

"Charlie has already made a remarkable impression on the young people he's met through our programs. He's approachable, authentic and passionate about making a difference, and the connections he's formed have been immediate and genuine.

"As a young athlete at the beginning of his AFL career, Charlie is someone our participants can truly relate to. He demonstrates that success isn't just about talent. It's about resilience, hard work, adaptability and backing yourself, even when things feel uncertain.

"We're thrilled to welcome Charlie to the Youth Opportunities family and look forward to working together to inspire more young people to believe in their potential and create positive futures."

Charlie will support Youth Opportunities through school visits, community events, awareness campaigns and digital initiatives, helping to amplify the voices and stories of young people across South Australia.
