Are you a Youth Opportunities Personal Leadership Program Graduate looking for help to reach your full potential? Our scholarships program is aimed at helping graduates of our face-to-face Personal Leadership Program, through assistance towards study goals and future career plans.
Youth Opportunities program graduates are eligible to apply for a scholarship between the value of $1,000 - $1,500 to help support study or future career goals.
Graduates can apply for a scholarship in financial support category, with the option to choose from driving lessons, an Officeworks gift card or other items including course fees or textbooks.

Graduates can apply for a scholarship in one or more of the below categories:
Driving Lessons
Receive the opportunity to work towards gaining valuable driving experience. Please also indicate whether you would like to take a logbook or VORT test in your application.
Officeworks GiftCard
Receive an Officeworks Gift Card for education support items like a laptop, iPad, art supplies, desk or stationary to support with study or work goals
To ensure your scholarship application is considered, please prepare the following three mandatory documents before you begin:
Evidence of Financial Need - Please refer to the FAQs below for guidance on acceptable documentation.
Copy of the applicant’s most recent school report
Teacher referee form
Please ensure you have these ready to upload before beginning this application, as this form does not allow you to save and come back later.
If you are completing your application online, please ensure you download the referee form and have your chosen referee complete it, ready to upload. Students must approach a teacher at their school to act as a referee, supporting your application. Ensure the referee form has been printed, filled out by your chosen referee, and returned prior to filling out this application.
Other evidence you can showcase to display your personal leadership skills and/or commitment to your goals: (optional)
Supporting artwork, music or other things that demonstrate personal interests related to your goal(s)
Copy of certificates, awards, newspaper articles, references etc. from the previous 12 months
Supporting documents as listed in the application (i.e. written references, copies of work etc.)
Note: There is a section near the end of the online application that requires your parent/guardian to complete some questions. Please ensure they are available to do this before commencing. Your digital signature (and those of your parent/guardian if under 18) are required before submitting.
Incomplete applications such as missing attachments, blank sections, or unsigned pages may not be accepted.
The additional evidence listed below is optional, but highly regarded by the selection committee:
Statement from a teacher/coach or similar about your levels of effort and leadership, and how this item or experience may assist you towards your goals and future.
Examples of work related to what you have requested i.e if requesting art supplies or an art course, please include examples of your artwork to support your application.

How to Apply
To apply for a scholarship, you can choose one of the two options:
Apply online: Complete the online application form. You cannot save your progress on this form, so before beginning, you must download the referee form and have your chosen referee complete it, ready to upload.
Email your application: Download the PDF application form, complete it and send it to scholarships@youthopps.com.au along with the mandatory documents listed below.

Our scholarships are aimed at students who are facing financial or other types of disadvantage, allowing them opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise be able to access. You may be eligible to apply if you receive one of the following:
School Cards Scheme
Austudy or ABSTUDY payment
Youth Allowance payment
Jobseeker payment
Health Care Card
Pension Concession Card
If you are in receipt of any of these benefits, your family’s financial situation has already been assessed by the government. You will need to provide proof, such as a copy of the card, or a letter from Centrelink showing payment of benefits.
Please note: Family Tax Benefit, expired cards or a Medicare card will not be considered as proof of financial need.

We want to ensure we reward applicants who are demonstrating personal leadership with their schoolwork. This does not mean you need to be a straight A student; we encourage anyone to apply. We may request another report in the future to determine if the scholarship has helped to maintain or improve grades.

Anything that supports your application and shows motivation, skill development, achievement, community service and determination to achieve your goals. This may include (but is not limited to) certificates, awards, newspaper articles, written references and copies of work. We want to see how you’re being a personal leader.

In the instance that what you have requested is not available or possible (e.g. there is no tutor in the subject you have requested) we will work with you to find an alternative opportunity that still supports you towards your academic and career goals.

All applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will be informed by Friday 3rd of October 2025 at 5pm via text message. Please ensure your phone number is correct on this form to ensure you receive this information. If your phone number changes, please notify us as soon as possible description.

We will arrange delivery to your school for your item to be picked up.
Once scholarships are awarded, we hope to celebrate awardees at a suitable school assembly.
Please note there will be no scholarship event ceremony.

All applicants are welcome to re-apply. Scholarship applications are open in Semester 1 and 2 each year, with previous winners being able re-apply for additional scholarships for up to 2 years after completing the program.
