Your role helps empower students with essential life skills and the ability to choose personal growth and development utilising our Personal Leadership toolkit.
As a Program Trainer, you will be at the forefront of helping young minds build self-confidence, resilience, and leadership abilities, enabling them to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential, all celebrated at their Graduation with student-led presentations and you at the helm.

We’re offering two roles as part of this exciting new 5-year project: a part-time role (4 days per week) including coordination, and a casual co-trainer position.

Youth Opportunities has been delivering Personal Leadership Programs and Wraparound support for over 27 years and has supported more than over 19,000 young people in the Personal Leadership Programs which positively impact them, their schools, families and communities. As a trainer, coach and mentor you can be part of this and make impactful outcomes.

What we are looking for in you:

  • High quality facilitation and coaching skills: ability to be relatable and engaging
  • Understanding of the challenges young people face
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with a broad range of people
  • Ability to be a positive role model, embodying personal leadership
  • High Emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in using Excel, word, outlook and administration skills
  • Tertiary qualification or experience in Training, Education, Psychology, Social work, Youth Work or similar field
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills to build and maintain stakeholder engagement
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check - Tasmania (mandatory)
  • Safeguarding Children Training - Tasmania (mandatory)
  • National Police Check (mandatory)
  • First Aid and Current CPR qualifications (mandatory)
  • Current driver’s license (mandatory)
  • Use of private vehicle at all times for work purposes
Experience in training, education, youth work, mental health, social work or similar fields is an advantage, as are strong facilitation skills and a commitment to personal leadership.
